A Day in The Life with Photos on Day 15 of the Blog Every Day in May Challenge
Ever want to take a look at a real day in another mom’s life to see if it’s truly as insane, strange, boring, whatever have you, as yours is?
Well, here you go! 20 sneak peeks inside a typical weekday out of my everyday life: Really and truly!
Ready for this?! Oh the excitement…. the suspense….
I wake up when one, then two wiggly, noisy little people clamber into my bed in the morning. Usually around 7:30am.
I come down the stairs to a chorus of meowing and find this…
Feed Us Now! (Meet these crazy cats over at Rascal and Rocco)
and then this (not always in the same order!).
No Feed Me First!
There’s always time for some spontaneous ball room dancing first thing in the morning.
“So this is love, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm!”
After feeding demanding animals, I had better get some coffee in hand quick, as the kids are now whining for food, if not already climbing into the cupboards finding chips and other unhealthy snacks!
Off to make some grub I go. Usually eggs, but today a breakfast of champions:
After eating I try to get some sit down learning done before the rest of the day, since they’re already at the table, and sitting may never happen again.
After cleaning up the breakfast mess, I throw in a load of the never ending laundry.
We get ready for the day, which is getting more and more involved. My girlie-girl likes to go all out and I can no longer get away with not brushing her hair, even if she would let me. (Did you see the dreads in the third photo?!
As soon as we can get out the door, we’re off to the Ancient History Class we go to on Tuesdays. We try to get there early to play on the play ground for at least a half hour before class starts to get some energy out!
Princess Boo balances on a balance board. She plays while Monkey finishes his masterpiece.
We eat lunch and the kids play with their friends for an hour. Then home for….
….a tea party!
While the kids are busy, I run around doing dishes, folding laundry, and stop for a moment to think about cleaning up some of the toys that have accumulated in the living room.
But, quickly decide I really need to get some
work done on the computer check my Facebook.
Now, where to play with bottle caps and cars? In the mud, of course!
It’s a great time to find some bugs and salamanders while Boo is taking her nap.
Or not. But definitely needing one.
Max is very concerned about his girl
No more time to fight her on it, as we need to get to karate. We barely make it on time. (this is not the latest pic, I can never get a clear shot! He’s a blue belt now.)
Boo waits patiently for her bro, making a pillow fort in the lobby, and singing loudly to make sure she gets plenty of attention.
Home again and what to do while mom makes dinner? Home made bubbles! Notice how well he kept them out of the pool like I asked (yes, that was sarcasm). Oh well.

Anyone notice how many times these kids change in one day?!
After dinner we wind down with a movie all too often.
Daddy’s are so great at keeping the kids mellow and relaxed at bedtime (more sarcasm).
We read some books, then lay with the kids till they’re relaxed, again.
Now maybe my hubby and I can have a few moments alone? Nope, he’s asleep.
Some alone time for me and my blog, then. I hope we still have some wine left.
Goodnight my beautiful family!
Hope you enjoyed a glimpse into a day of my life.
