Blog a Day in May Challenge- Day 5:

My Favorite Blogger Friend

This is one chick you really need to get to know! I knew her first as a mommy and fellow homeschooling friend. She’s an inspiration just being those!

this is what I would look like with four kids

She has four wonderful kids. Yes FOUR (shaking my head in awe). I noticed right away how polite and caring toward each other, their friends, my kids, and the grown ups around they were. I’m sure they have their moments like any other kids, but she must be doing something right! (She’s got some great parenting tips on her blog.)

Sandy Toes Creations- A Blogger Worth KnowingShe’s an accomplished freelance writer, one of my dreams, so I look up to her! And though I harass her quite often, she’s never refrained from giving advice. Quite the opposite! When she found out about my little blog, she was so encouraging, I began to believe I really do have talent and there could be a possible future in it… thank her for that. I started putting much more time and effort into blogging. She gave me the confidence to write and encouragement to keep at it! She shared my first “real” posts. (I still have a bunch of sad beginner ones that need to be re-written, but give me time (I have little kids, remember?! Okay, not four, but still…).

I can cook, too! I made some delicious blueberry muffins this morning.

Her blog, is highly enjoyable. She writes with a sharp whit about mommy life with some helpful advice thrown in. Oh, and did I mention she can cook?! She’s participating in a video series on iVillage featuring her, a real mom, cooking with her kids! Yep, the kids are right there helping, licking fingers, making messes. I love it! And the recipes look delicious! She has yet to invite me over to judge for myself if it really does taste as good as it looks (I’m waiting…!), guess she’s a bit busy with her brood, making videos, writing… I know how that goes to some degree.

So who is this fabulous, mysterious muse? Christine Candelaria of The Aums, of course! Okay, so now I sound like I worship her and she will probably be scared I’m a psychotic stalker and never invite me over to try her delicious cooking!

Christine, No, I do not idolize you, hope your head didn’t just grow 10 sizes! But I do look up to you and have appreciated your encouragement more than I can express! You’re a great mom and friend, and have many talents!

I’d love to know- Who is your favorite blogger or someone you really look up to? Why?

Oh my goodness…okay, I just now started to read this and I can't believe it! I'm going to go back and really read it now but I just want to tell you about the coincidence that I wrote a post yesterday and mentioned you in it…crazy! I'll post mine soon, but wow, I'm floored right now. Thanks for the extremely kind words. We'll have to have you over the new place for taste-testing and braiding lessons- which I need desperately!

Oh good, you don't think I'm a psycho, then? 😉 Hope you get moved and settled as smoothly as possible. Let me know if I can help in any way. And oh, the suspense! I can't wait to read your next post now!

I miss the days when the kids would freely play ou I miss the days when the kids would freely play outdoors. Rocks & streams, sticks & flowers, their toys of choice. They're older now and drawn and to technology. They still have a love of nature, but it takes a push to get them to go outside and their play is different now. How do you get your big kids or #teens outdoors?
