Learning your own culture and history through stories from the past really brings that history to life! Besides history documentaries and historical novels, we love to search for folktales in any culture we are studying in our homeschooling. These great North American Folktales bring color, rhythm, and humor to learning. This list includes a range of Black American, southern, Native American, and collections of good old American Tall Tales, of course.
These books make great Christmas gifts for kids, educational books in American History, or just exciting bed time stories to enjoy again and again.
