I’m a sucker for fabric. I don’t have much time to sew, but I used to sew a lot when the kids were babies. I made them baby blankets, picnic blankets, bibs, cloth dolls, and fun items. Handmade items, made with love, are so much more meaningful. And I love giving something unique, that no one else in the world has. I hadn’t sewn in a long while, but after almost a year I finally picked up my mending basket the other day and fixed every stuffed animal, sock, and ripped t-shirt in the basket. Actually many of the clothes my kids had already outgrown, whoops!
It felt good to use my hands. Sewing forces you to slow down, pay attention to detail, to focus. I’m often multi tasking and rushing, but unless I want a needle through my finger and a bloodstain on the precious doll I’m fixing for my daughter, I have to pay attention. I’ve been commissioned to sew a bunch of baby bibs and the timing couldn’t be more perfect! I’m all into sewing again!
Searching for fabric can be a challenge. I like to rummage through my local fabric store’s scraps and clearance items, but it’s rare to find something I really like or that is the right size. I get overwhelmed with all the choices and it does get busy there. I’ve walked out after waiting too long to just get a yard cut off a ream.

My favorites are the classic Peter Rabbit and Winnie the Pooh fabrics, but I just fell in love with this baby foxes fabric!
Isn’t it just too adorable? I can picture a fox themed nursery. If I ever have another baby, I’ve got it planned out in my head now!

So many cute fabrics! Would be fun to make a quilt with these.. though I should say buy for my mom to make a quilt with these as I am not much of a sewer!
These are adorable little prints. My daughter would love that fox print even now as a teen! I never learned to sew but come from a long line of women that can whip up just about anything. How nice it would be to make your own nursery bedding as gifts.
