Bay Area LEGO Kids Fest 2013 is almost here- Win free tickets!

Win free tickets to the LEGO® Kids Fest Coming to the Bay Area

Aug 30- Sept 1, 2013

Sandy Toes Creations-LEGO Kids Fest

4×4 Crawler Exclusive Edition

Fun LEGO facts:

LEGO® is the
contraction of two Danish words, “leg godt” which means “play
well”.

More
than 400 billion LEGO® bricks have been produced since 1949.

Laid end to end,
the number of LEGO® bricks sold in a year would reach more than 5 times around
the world.

Children around
the world spend 5 billion hours a year playing with LEGO® bricks.

Monkey, just discovered the joy of LEGOs over the last year. He’s had a hodgepodge box of what survived from my childhood for a long time, but last Christmas he received a couple nice new sets; one of a garbage truck and another of a firetruck, complete with instruction booklets.

He loves following the diagrams and building exactly what he sees in the pictures. He’s always so proud of completing something he’s worked hard on, especially when he did it without any help, and he can now play with it!

For me this means constantly stepping on tiny sharp little pieces of plastic (oh my gosh, it freaking hurts!) and being careful not to vacuum any up, but it’s worth it for all he gets out of playing with them!

They are so small and end up everywhere, including the crevices of the couch. I have to be very careful and search everywhere before I vacuum. I wouldn’t care so much, normally I have a, “well, you shouldn’t have left it out” attitude about little toys, but have you seen how expensive they are? I had no idea until Monkey fell in love with them and I thought, oh, I’ll just go pick up a few more sets.

Ya right! I was in sticker shock! So, our home is not overflowing with the little LEGO Bricks, but he has enough to work with for now. The major issue is keeping his little sister from wrecking his masterpiece! I can sometimes distract her with her larger LEGO DUPLO®’s but those little ones are the most fun and she knows it!

Needless to say, I was overjoyed when I heard about the LEGO Kids Fest Expo coming to the Bay Area Aug 30th through Sept 1st!

Yippee! We can go play with LEGOs and see some really amazing things that have been built with them!

As a homeschooler, this type of event is right up our ally! Learning through play, is our favorite way to do it!

So, we’ll be heading to the San Jose Convention Center the last weekend in Aug, 2013 for the LEGO Kids Fest and you can join us!

They’ve kindly offered to give one of my followers 2 FREE tickets to go as well!

Tickets are normally $21 for adults and $19 for kids.

Excellent place to visit. I love to visit these places with my family and my 16 months old son likes coin operated kiddie rides a lot.

Aw! This sounds like it would be the perfect event for you family! I never knew that info about legos. I just knew they seemed to be around FOREVERRR! 🙂 My son is 15 months and he just got his first few. He plays with them already! I wish I was going to be in California during that time. Sounds like its going to be a nice event. I live in Arizona so it's just too bad that I won't be able to go. I found your blog through the Monthly Mommy hop! Following you now on social media! 🙂

I miss the days when the kids would freely play ou I miss the days when the kids would freely play outdoors. Rocks & streams, sticks & flowers, their toys of choice. They're older now and drawn and to technology. They still have a love of nature, but it takes a push to get them to go outside and their play is different now. How do you get your big kids or #teens outdoors?
