Sandy Toes Creations- Simple Beautiful Moment

Blog Every Day in May Challenge- Day 17

Favorite Photo of Myself.

At first I thought to use my best current photo. You know, the one from my best angle, where my makeup looks fresh, and I’m not having a bad hair day for once! But that’s the one you see all over Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites. So that’s kind of a cop out.

Now what?! I’m very tired, Boo was up a lot last night, so I can barely think, but somehow a thought managed to come through, eventually, that maybe I should dredge up an old photo from my childhood. Something with a great memory along with it. Maybe something silly that would grab your attention and/or make you at laugh! What a fabulous idea!

Crap, nothing specific is coming to mind and I have no desire to dig out all the old photo albums and poor over them in such a short time. If this wasn’t “blog a day”, and I had all the time to think it over as well as reminisce over all those old photos (which I know I would, for hours), perhaps I’d be willing.

New plan, find something more current of me, but maybe a bit more interesting and meaningful. I scanned last few months of photos on my laptop, nothing. Not one pic of me. I am the one who takes the pics and rarely the one in them! Oh, look, one file from my hubby’s old cell phone. Please let there be something descent!!

And I came across this. Actually I skipped over it a few times because I couldn’t tell what it was from the thumbnail. I found some cheesy pics of me awkwardly smiling for the camera. But for some reason I finally opened this one (desperation), and I love it!

Just a simple moment at the park, picking up my infant daughter. I love how the sun is shining through the tree and on my hair (You know I love sunshine!). Notice how it’s flowing through the air! Okay, not so much, but I love that a little girl is watching us. I love that my husband thought to take a picture at that moment from across the playground (I zoomed in from the original). And he doesn’t often take pics of me, either.

I love that it’s from my favorite time in my life, now, doing what I love best; enjoying and taking care of my kids.

Great picture. It's simple; it's just what is happening in the day; no need to pose. Found you through the 30 Day Blog Challenge. I grew up in the Bay Area and went to Santa Cruz often – like the name of your blog and all those sandy toes in your blog picture.
