Learn About the Jungle Childrens Books

February 14, 2018 by L. E. Mastilock 1 Comment

What is more fun than learning about the jungle? From rain forests in the Amazon to the jungles of India. Tigers, tree frogs, pink dolphins? Learn about jungle animals and habitats with these colorful children’s books about the jungle. Create a jungle unit study or add to your bedtime reading. These books are not only educational, but just plain fascinating. I’ve included a variety of novels for kids, factual books about jungle life, and fun picture books for younger kids.

Our favorite jungle books are the photographic books with beautiful photos taken deep within the rain forest. Enjoy these books about the jungle for kids and please share your favorites in comments.

Our Favorite Books about the Jungle

Any list of Jungle stories has got to include the Jungle Book, of course. But did you know there is a sequel?

Here’s another fantastic read set in the jungle:

A huge favorite of my kids’ are books with vivid photographs in them. ‘Romancing the Rain’ has a fascinating and harrowing story of the photographer’s journey through the Amazon, along with vivid photography. My kids still enjoy looking through it, though we’ve had it for years now.

You’ve got to have some factual books to learn about life in the jungle, jungle animals, and habitats:

And, of course, some fun picture books or bedtime stories in the jungle add to the fun!

We spent at least a year or so reading up on all the rainforests. My middle son was obsessed with them and we read so much about them, watched lots of movies and videos and he even wrote up a whole report with a 3-d diorama. It’s such a fun subject to explore.
