The Discovery Learning Center will kick off their second annual unconference with a How to Homeschool workshop on Aug 21st, then, the following Friday, Aug 28th, a special showing of the film Class Dismissed including Q&A session with the director Jeremy Stuart!

Those registered for the unconference may attend for free

or a $5-10 donation per family.

Discussion of legal ways to homeschool in California, explore different styles of homeschooling, and resources available. Friday, August 21, 6:00-8:30pm Free with registration to the Santa Cruz Homeschool Unconference or a supporting membership to the DLC, $5-10 suggested donation for others.

Special Screening of Class Dismissed –

Specal screening of movie and Q&A with director. Friday, August 28, 6:30-9:30pm Free with registration to the Santa Cruz Homeschool Unconference or a supporting membership to the DLC, $5-10 suggested donation for others.

Santa Cruz Homeschool Unconference –

Second annual participatory homeschool conference August 29, 9:00am-4:30pm  Join us for informal, collaborate conference sessions and activities for the whole family! “Unconference” reffers to the informal design of the conference, attendees decide the schedule and topics at the start, all styles of homeschoolers are encouraged to attend.

    This sounds like a fabulous conference. After years spent teaching in the school system, I am SO thankful that I can homeschool my kids.
