The world is full of wonderous color. When teaching colors to kids I like to read adorable children’s books about primary colors and mixing colors. My kids’ favorite books about color are books with brilliant photographs full of bright colors, such as the Oceans of the World and books about the Amazon that have vivid pictures. We continually pour over our favorite photography books, visit art museums, and experiment with paint and other art mediums to play with color.
Hands on learning is the best way to enjoy and really soak in lessons about the world around us. Whether you are looking for homeschool art curriculum, art lessons for kids, or preschool books on colors, there is something for you here. For older kids, the book ‘Color: A Natural History of the Palette’ is fascinating and enjoyable!
