Company Strives for Eco-friendly Packaging #MondayMatters

July 23, 2018 by L. E. Mastilock 1 Comment

Welcome to Monday Matters– Spread awareness to help important causes and start your week off right by making a difference each Monday, even if that is just to pin, tweet, or share to pass this information on. Join the Monday Matters blog hop after this post.

We hear about plastic pollution from plastic shopping bags and water bottles, but what about all that plastic that’s being used to package our medicines and personal products?   As consumers demand change, companies are in search of eco-friendlier options.  It’s not easy or a fast road for a company to find an eco-frinedly option, but one company has taken on the task.

I wish all companies cared for the health of it’s consumers and the world.

“Hyland’s was kind enough to provide me with some samples of Hyland’s 4 Kids Bumps ‘n Bruises homeopathic ointment sticks in exchange for spreading awareness about their quest for environmental friendly packaging.”

Hyland’s 4 Kids not only has natural remedy products free of harmful toxins, they have been searching for an eco-friendly solution to packaging.  And what they have come up with is fantastic!

Hyland’s has just introduced their new paper-board package as part of a product line featured in Target stores included in its ‘Made to Matter’ program.

I love this Arnica ointment stick for kids because it's all natural health and a homeopathic natural remedy that works, but @HylandsHealth cares about health and environment. They just introduced recycled packaging for their #hylandsbooboostick

“Hyland’s 4 Kids Bumps ‘n Bruises with Arnica is the first topical ointment stick for treating bumps, bruises, and swelling and it comes in a sustainable packaging technology that’s never been used in chidren’s medicine. The EcoPush ™ recycled paper tube is made from 90% recycled materials (75% post-consumer content) sourced from the U.S. ” Hyland’s stated.

Hyland’s is a company that wants to do good, ‘eco-perfection’ today is a massive undertaking.  Listen to part of the story told by Industrial Designer Kara Errickson about creating sustainable packaging for companies. See what inspires her to continue this process.

Hyland’s has taken this to heart and has created earth friendly packaging with their newest product Hyland’s 4 Kids Bumps ‘n Bruises with Arnica. Found exclusively at Target.

What is a Bumps ‘n Bruises Stick?

When my little ones have any “owies” they always want a bandage or an ice pack to feel better.

I wish I had had this natural Arnica stick years ago, but I’m so glad to have it now. The Hyland’ s 4 Kids Bumps’n Bruises homeopathic ointment stick reduces bruising, pain, and swelling. I’ve always cared about natural health for kids and I look for natural remedies for kids whenever possible. This is a natural remedy for bruises and swelling and it slides on the skin, is gentle on sensitive skin, and smells deliciously like lemon and beeswax.

Not only do kids love the fun look of the silly character on the cardboard tube packaging, which can help to distract them from fear and discomfort, they get something that soothes them emotionally and truly soothes them physically as well. After a fall, bump or bruise, they can easily apply their own personal little soothing stick, rub it over the sore spot, and feel soothing relief.

They come in fun colors so my daughter chose pink and my son, green, always his favorite. He carries his in his backpack to classes, hiking, everywhere he goes. This kid plays hard and his Hyland’s 4 Kids Bumps’n Bruises stick has come in handy many times.

It’s made of all natural ingredients and designed for kids ages 2-12.

Free of:

  • PABA
  • phthalates
  • synthetic preservatives
  • fabrances
  • parabens
  • dyes
  • and most common allergens

“We at Hyland’s are parents too and teaching our children about the environment and healthy products is important to us,” added Le. “We designed colorful, whimsical ‘splat’-faced characters on the packaging for Hyland’s 4 Kids Bumps ‘n Bruises with Arnica to distract and delight kids when they are in pain. These entertaining faces also engage kids in the packaging and provide parents the opportunity to turn a ‘boo-boo’ into chance to talk to their kids about more eco-friendly products and choices.” Hyland’s stated in a recent press release.
