Gardening Books for Kids

June 1, 2016 by L. E. Mastilock 1 Comment

Gardening with kids is such a wonderful activity for so many reasons! Get kids outside in the fresh air and let them get their little hands in the soil to find worms, plant seeds and watch them grow. Growing your own food as a family is a not only a great time to bond, but kids are more willing, usually eager, to eat food they have grown themselves. Prepping soil, planting seeds, tending and harvesting and finally cooking the food grown brings science, art, health,  and more. With a few good books and some added curriculum or lessons, your kids can learn all subjects while doing something they’ll really enjoy!

To accompany our gardening and expand our learning about plants and seeds, I’ve compiled a list of gardening books for kids preschool through elementary to add to your homeschool curriculum.

SO many great books on this list; I don’t think we’ve heard of half of them. Perfect time for us to read up on them since we’re slowly working on bringing our plants outside for the summer. Hoping to get a few veggies we can eat this year (usually they die first).
