One of my favorite snacks used to be bagels. I don’t miss much since switching to a gluten free diet, but I miss bagels!
BFree Foods said they’d send me some gluten free bagels to try. Why not? But, my expectations were low. I had tried a few gluten free bagels only to find them tasteless or too cake-like. I had given up altogether and just tried not to think about them. But what could it hurt to try once more.
Score!
Check out what BFree sent me?
Not just bagels, but gluten free sandwich breads, gluten free rolls, gluten free wraps, even gluten free pita bread (which I had also thought would not be on my menu again).
Wow!
My family was as excited as I was to try the new BFree gluten free breads. We all used to love a trip to the bagel shop, so we didn’t even wait to put everything put away. We pulled out the bagels and headed for the toaster. I couldn’t even get photos for this post before some of them were eaten!
My youngest was the first to get to try one and, well, I can’t even express in words. Watch this:
Bliss. Pure bliss.
Once we each had our perfectly toasted bagels, which look, feel, and smell, like a bagel should, we were all in heaven, because they taste amazing! The texture and taste are just like a regular bagel. Mmm. I’m craving another as I write this. They are just a bit more delicate without that gluten to hold them together, but not by much. They didn’t fall apart as some gluten free breads tend to do.
All of the breads were wonderful. One by one we tried them all over the past week. BFree gluten free white and grain sandwich breads are fantastic! The gluten free bread rolls were another welcome surprise! To have a dinner roll with spaghetti, oh happy day! We had some that very night with dinner! I used to always like white rolls, but I prefer the BFree brown seeded rolls, they are more flavorful.
The wraps are great for sandwich wraps, not my favorite as a burrito tortilla, but still good if you don’t have an alternative. The pita bread was great fun. My kids had never had a pita pocket or gyro. I cooked up some fajita filling and we filled our pitas, another unexpected treat that week. Lets just say my dining room was one delicious, happy place to be!
Still is! I recently found BFree bread available at my local Lucky’s supermarket and have bought more! I think I’ll go have a late night snack right now. Hope there is at least one bagel left!

I am still learning about gluten free choices and these can top it. If kids can enjoy food that is better for them; it’s a great first step. As a mom, I don’t want to feed anything that harms. Glad bagels are back on the menu.
It’s so encouraging to hear that these options are available now. Food choices are getting better and better for those on special diets. So much joy on your little girl’s face!!
I love your daughter’s face. Haha. Gluten free bagels sound really good 🙂
