I loved horses as a child. I took riding lessons when I could and I soaked up all things horses. Friends and family knew I loved horses and would buy me horse books for gifts, but children’s books about horses are often lacking. What I wanted was real knowledge. My favorite horse book had real photographs, an encyclopedia of horse breeds, tips for riding, photos and explanations of all the tools and equipment a horse back rider needs, and more. I have listed some books below for the true horse lover. These are books that teach equestrian skills, horse anatomy, types of horse breeds and horse history. These are all books I would have poured over as a child. Any of these would make a great gift for the horse lover in your family.
I also included a few horse activity books and my favorite books featuring horses that your kids will love.
