How Toxic is Your Home? #TheToxicTest

January 26, 2015 by L. E. Mastilock 6 Comments

Welcome to Monday Matters! Spread awareness to help important causes and start your week off right by making a difference each Monday, even if that is just to pin, tweet, or share to pass this information on. I am not being compensated for this post.

How Toxic is Your Home? #theToxicTest An easy way to find out what dangerous chemicals are in products you use every day

There are more toxins in the products you use every day than you suspect

There are over 80,000 chemicals in use in the US alone, thousands of which are banned overseas. Of those, only a very small percentage is regulated at all.
Did you also know, the cosmetic industry is self-regulated with very little legislation to keep woman safe from products they use daily. Manufacturers of cleaning products and laundry detergents are not required to list their ingredients. And yes, chemicals can enter your  bloodstream through your skin.

The Healthy Home company is committed to ridding homes of the products and chemicals that are harming families.

Because they are so passionate about ridding common toxins in our homes, they have launched their Toxic Truth™ Campaign, to make it easy for people to recognize the dangers found in the products they use every day.

TAKE THE TOXIC TEST™
The Toxic Test has taken the guesswork out of exposing these chemicals, by providing you with an overview of the top Toxic Ten product categories found in the home (including toothpaste, soap and sanitizer, and kitchen cleaner) and outlining some of the dangerous chemicals they harbor.

Plus, Get Rewarded!

Mom Bloggers Club has teamed up with The Healthy Home Company offering you a chance to win up to $1,000 in cash and prizes!

Enter to win the Trash the Toxins Contest

Contest begins January 8, 2015 and ends February 8, 2015

I will definitely be taking the test!

Perhaps I’ll end up spending a little more on safer, healthier alternatives for my cleaning and personal products, but I’d rather spend it on conscientious companies than health problems in my future.

This is such a scary post. We think we are doing right by our children and then realize that our homes are teeming with items that can harm them. It would be so nice if warnings came on products, the truth, not some cover up. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I agree! Big warning labels with skull & crossbones, not fine print you can't even see.

I have taken most of the cleaning chemicals out of our home and am working on getting rid of hidden ones. I do not like that stuff around my daughter.

Good choice! I'm working on ridding those nasty chemicals from our home, too.

It's amazing how many chemicals we surround ourselves with, isn't it? I've been on a mission to rid our home of anything toxic and I LOVE the Healthy Home Company products! So important to get the word out!

Thank you for sharing with us at #MommyMeetupMondays!

Most of us just don't think about it, but it really is terrible how many toxins are all around us and in our homes!
