If only I could travel to Japan and immerse my kids in Japanese culture to learn about it first hand! For now, we will have to learn about Japan through books, crafts, and foods. Learning about different cultures, people and places around the world teaches respect for all types of people and appreciation of others. Here are some great books about Japan to incorporate in your homeschool curriculum or supplement your history, geography, and social studies lessons. Create a Japan unit study or just enjoy these reads on their own with your kids. My favorite way to learn about any country is through food! I encourage you to also enjoy some Japanese foods while you study.
