We go to an organic working farm once a month with a group of homeschoolers and work all parts of the farm from caring for animals like chickens, to prepping soil, planting, and harvesting. The kids get hands on learning about healthy foods, and all aspects of farming using science, math, and working outdoors together. Catching chickens and collecting eggs is a favorite activity and the kids learn so much while caring for other creatures. We hope to have chickens of our own at home someday soon.
I love to gather books to delve deeper into any activities we do, so, naturally, I have quite a collection of books about chickens. Learn about chickens with these books for kids preschool books through elementary books to add to your homeschool curriculum or spring activities.
