Monday Matters- The First Step to End Child Trafficking

April 30, 2018 by L. E. Mastilock 5 Comments

Welcome to Monday Matters! Spread awareness to help important causes and start your week off right by making a difference each Monday, even if that is just to pin, tweet, or share to pass this information on. Join the Monday Matters blog hop to share causes that important to you or blog posts about giving or helping others.

January is human trafficking awareness month, but I believe this issue needs to be addressed each and every month.

I’ve shared before a fantastic place to shop for handmade jewelry online that supports slavery survivors is iSanctuary and again on What Happens to a Slave When She’s Set Free?

Another great organization working hard to educate, prevent, and end human trafficking is LOVE146.

The First Step to End Child Trafficking

The first step toward this goal is to get educated:

LEARN…
  • What slavery is and isn’t
  • Common myths and misconceptions
  • Recognize exploitation
  • Validate victims
  • Where to get help
  • and more

Why LOVE146?

“This is not a charitable cause to be supported – this is an emergency.”

“At Love146, we’re not quick fix people. We believe we’ve got to be ready to journey with a child for the long haul, and monthly givers allow us to do just that. Because of regular donors, we can show up for children month after month.” LOVE146

This is such an important issue to highlight. The video is chilling. It's almost impossible to imagine what it must be like to be those girls on a menu. Thanks for sharing this, I did not know about this particular organization.

This is so great Leah, such an important topic to bring awareness about! Sometimes people forget about things that don't affect their lives directly, this is a really good reminder of how we can make a difference.
