#HolidaysR4 Giving- Cleaner Closets Helping Schools

November 10, 2014 by L. E. Mastilock Leave a Comment

Welcome to Monday Matters! Spread awareness to help important causes and start your week off right by making a difference each Monday, even if that is just to pin, tweet, or share to pass this information on.

The best thing about the holidays is the spirit of giving that surrounds this time of year.

I love to shop for gifts through companies that give back. If I’m going to buy holiday gifts anyway, I love it if I can help a great cause or charity at the same time.

I also like to buy cozy pajamas for the family and maybe a nice holiday outfit for each of us. I just learned about Schoola where I can get brand name kids clothes for a huge discount and 40% of my purchase goes straight to the school of my choice! That’s the best deal I’ve ever heard!

What is Schoola?

An online shop dedicated to recycling brand-name children’s clothes, with $2 of every $5 spent going to fund school programs.

Not thrilled about gently used clothes?

I love to thrift shop and always find great outfits that look brand new. One Christmas my daughter was the delight of every Christmas party and event we attended in her adorable outfit. You bet, it was used. Holiday outfits are usually worn once and then outgrown, so they don’t get worn out. Those memories will be my some of my favorite holiday memories for all time.

I am thrilled when I can spend less and find perfectly adorable used clothes. Here are just a few from the warm and cozy selection on Schoola right now. Shop for a cause, recycle, reuse, and give back!

“Stacey Boyd, founder of the San Francisco startup Schoola, sifted through the clothes, which had been collected at five city schools in May 2013, and then put them up for sale on her website, with nearly half the proceeds going back to the donor schools.” San Francisco Chronicle

You can also donate your kids clothes or get your school involved in a clothing drive. Schoola will provide bags for free and pick up the bags from your doorstep. Couldn’t be easier!

Right now I get to offer my readers 25% off your first purchase!
