Since 2007, Hopes Closet of Santa Cruz (HCSC) has provided support to thousands of children and families in our community.
“We give clothes, toys and other items such as high chairs, diapers, bedding, baby gear, books, cribs and more. This is made possible
through the generous donations of Jelli Beanz patrons and other community members.” Jelli Beanz
Hopes Closet of Santa Cruz is an all-volunteer run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
HCSC came to be through the vision and generous hearts of its founders Stephanie Hendersen and Sherri Brenner, owners of Jelli Beanz in Santa Cruz, a “trade for credit” gently used, children’s clothing store. Shortly after the doors opened, it became clear that there was an enormous need to help the youngest of those struggling in our community and families with neither the financial resources nor transportation to access services.
Our mission is to provide services, products and enrichment opportunities to families and children in need.
We do this in partnership with local organizations such as Early Head Start, The Pregnancy Resource Center, Salud Para la Gente, Sienna House, La Familia, Sutter Maternity, Dominican Hospital, local churches and many others. Our partners help us distribute “bundles of hope” absolutely free and without any red tape or qualification requirements.
We need your help!
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to support our facilities, materials, supplies and outreach efforts. Because everyone at Hopes Closet volunteers their time, 100% of all donations are dedicated to HCSC services.
If that’s too much at this time, $50 or even $25 can make a huge difference to the children and families we serve.
