Blog Every Day in May Challenge- Day 1

I have accepted a challenge to blog every day in May! Based on the writing prompts, there will be much more personal info than I have been posting about lately. Are you ready to get to know me? Follow me over this month for some pretty interesting insights!

Sandy Toes- My Life as a Poem

The Story of My Life in under 250 words: I tried, but couldn’t narrate it under 300 words, so here’s

My life as a poem:

Brady bunch beginnings. Happy hippies loving life in Santa
Cruz. You think things can’t ever change!
Shattered with drugs, lies, and divorce. Oppressive, OCD
dictator to live under until I could escape. Fear and anxiety such that I often
couldn’t talk, my throat just wouldn’t work! Depression for years. Hiding in
the library with my nose in a book. That was school.
Home only to protect my little sibs. Suicidal, but would
never leave them.
Escape to a college or two or three. No plan
or goal, hard to work towards a degree I wasn’t sure I’d live to see!
Engaged, desperate for someone to take care of me. Why can’t
he make me happy? What’s wrong with him?! Oh, it’s me. Moved out.
Made a good friend, cried on each others shoulders. Moved
in and never left! In love.
Epiphany; Only I can make me happy! No one can do
it for me. Decided to be happy!
Depression still tries to strangle. Anxiety stifles. I am Warrior and will not
be defeated! TOWANDA!!!
Life has begun! Made the family I wanted. Adore my husband and kids! Reveling
in the little things. Loving life! Breathing and soaking in the sun.
Following
my passions, not others expectations. Know my limits, but will always choose
happiness and life! I now have goals. And great purpose.
