4 Natural Ways Busy Moms Boost Energy and Immunity

Being a mom is exhausting. It’s the hardest job there is. Being a working mom, mostly from home while homeschooling your kids, well that’s just insane. I admit it, I’m completely insane. I not only keep track of one job, I’m working multiple jobs and caring for my disabled husband. It’s not the ideal situation, it’s certainly not the least stressful, but it’s what has to be done right now. As a mom and wife who loves her family with her whole heart, we do what we need to do, right?

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Zicam® Total Immune. All opinions are my own.

But, how does one keep up with this much stress, so little sleep, and constant activity for a long period of time? By the second half of the day I was dragging along until I learned these few simple ways to boost energy and keep my immune system strong. I don’t have a choice right now with how much is on my plate and getting sick or being too tired to keep up is not an option.

Being a mom is hard! We need all the help we can get! Here are four natural ways to boost energy and boost your immune system. It's still cold season and having a strong immunity helps your body stay healthy to keep up with your kids

How does an overworked mom keep up her energy and stay healthy?

The answer may sound something like what your mom taught you as a child, but like any child, we need reminders, right? And often we have to learn the hard way, only turning to mom’s solid gold advice once we’ve exhausted all other options. So, here’s a reminder for your health and well being.

4 Ways to Boost Your Immune System and Have More Energy

1.  Have a Positive Attitude

Having the right mindset works wonders! Of course I get discouraged and overwhelmed, all too often of late, but I can force myself to think positive when I feel myself slipping into depression and anxiety. List all the good things, any little thing you appreciate in your life. It can be something as simple as your cup of coffee in the morning. Go over that list when negative thoughts fill your mind. Play upbeat music and don’t allow yourself to watch sad movies or books, even if they come highly recommended, when you know they’ll just bring you down. Move your body, even if it’s just a jog up and down your own stairs, or a stretch and walk around your kitchen table. Moving can wake you up and naturally lifts your spirits.

2.  Eat Real Food

Processed and artificial foods make you bloated, inflame your gut, slow you down, and just make you feel drained of energy. Eating real, nutritious foods will make you feel better and keep you strong and healthy. Last year my family switched to a gluten-free diet and cut out foods with artificial and processed ingredients as much as possible. It really made a difference in feeling healthy and energized!

3.  Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water. Not soda, not juice or tea, all these have sugar and other ingredients that can have the opposite of the desired effect. Drink good ol’ water first thing in the morning, even before your tea or coffee to re-hydrate and drink plenty more throughout the day. Even being the tiniest bit dehydrated can cause headaches, foggy thinking, and low energy. I always carry a water bottle with me and have spare water in my car.

4.  Take Your Vitamins

I’ve always hated taking vitamins. The chew-able and gummy vitamins taste nasty to me and always make me feel nauseous after I take them. For the longest time I just wouldn’t take any vitamins at all. But there’s finally something I actually love!

I gave Zicam® Total Immune + Performance Support Orange Burst Melts and Zicam® Total Immune + Digestive Health Berry Crystals a try and found that they both taste great and they really do boost my energy! They also boost my immune system so my body is prepared for those germs that will inevitable come my way with two kids and my work with toddlers and pre-schoolers. Zicam doesn’t cure illness, just to be clear, but it gives me important vitamins and minerals I need to a strong immune system that is ready to work when I need it to.

Did you know a healthy immune system starts with a healthy gut?

Many people don’t realize this, but immunity function actually starts in the gut. Zicam® Total Immune Crystals has pro-biotics with live active cultures that are so important for your digestive health. You can take it right from the packet (like a pixie stick) or you can toss it in a water bottle, give it a shake and you’re good to go! I prefer it this way as I get some of my daily fluids in at the same time.

The Zicam® Total Immune Melts taste similar to vitamin C chewables. They dissolve quickly in your mouth and taste delicious! They are designed to take after being active to restore and energize you. I noticed a difference right away! I get that afternoon slump and these have really helped me to re-energize to get through to the end of my day.

I haven’t tried Zicam, but I think as a preschool teacher being around nasty germs all day from multiple kids, I better give it a try! I absolutely agree with all the other tips, especially staying hydrated. I can so feel a difference in my energy when I haven’t given myself the opportunity to stay hydrated.

I agree, being a mom is EXHAUSTING!! I love it, but there are days when I am dragging! I love Zicam products, but haven’t seen tried their Total Immune products yet. I will be looking for it next time I go to the market!
