This Real Milk is Easy to Digest

March 4, 2016 by L. E. Mastilock 3 Comments

I love a cold glass of milk. I have milk in my cereal, in my coffee, chocolate milk, or hot chocolate, milk shakes, home made ice cream, oh so many ways to enjoy it. Now, I’m making my own mouth water!  I’ve always loved milk. I drink milk every day, but it doesn’t always seem to agree with me.

Enjoy real milk again. Are you self diagnosed as lactose intolerant? a2 milk is the only cows milk that does not contain the A1 protien that causes digestive issues. Love your milk again and enjoy the taste of the real thing and all its health benefits. #a2milk, #IC #ad

This post was sponsored by a2 Milk® as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.

I just love dairy and haven’t wanted to give it up. Some things are worth suffering for, or so I always told myself. However, it’s not worth my family suffering for. My son has more stomach aches than I have, so I have considered giving up milk (gasp!).  I have no idea how I would survive without dairy. What would I eat? Everything is better with dairy!

We already drastically changed our diet to all natural and gluten-free when we found out my son (and possibly myself, too) can’t tolerate gluten. Could lactose intolerance be an issue as well? I have thought on it quite a bit, but to change to a paleo diet, free of all milk products… that seems really extreme for a mild intolerance. That would be another total life change and I know my husband would not be on board with it. But what can we do? I don’t want my child, or myself either, but especially my child, to suffer if there’s anything I can do to prevent it. Is there a way to ease lactose intolerance naturally without giving up cows milk?

I was excited to hear about a2 Milk® and get to try some to see if it really did not bother me or my son as other milk does.

What is a2 Milk®?

a2 milk® is pure farm fresh cow milk.

If you’ve been thinking you may have lactose intolerance issues or Post-Dairy Digestive Discomfort, you might just enjoy this milk without any symptoms! An independent study showed that 1 in 4 Americans have discomfort after drinking milk; yet only 3-4% of the population has been clinically diagnosed with a lactose intolerance medical condition. If you have self-diagnosed yourself with lactose intolerance, this could be great news for you; you may still be able to enjoy fresh, natural cows milk!

How is it different?

The A1 protein is the cause of ‘Post-Dairy Digestive Discomfort.’

Currently the A1 protien is found in all conventional & organic milks on the U.S. market. a2 Milk® only comes from heirloom a2 cows. It is the only cow milk on the market naturally free of the A1 beta-casin protein, the way milk was for our ancestors.

Originally, all cows milk contained only the a2 protein and that milk was easily digestible, but that changed over time as farmers migrated herds to the U.S. and changes in farming, technology, and demand caused cows to adapt to the stress and began producing a protein varient, A1.

a2 cows naturally produce milk free from the A1 protein. All other forms of mammal’s milk (i.e. goat, sheep, human) only contain the A2 type proteins.

You may be able to enjoy your milk again without the tummy aches and without milk substitutes that, lets be honest, are not the same as the real thing.

a2 Milk® contains about:

  • 6x the amount of calcium as soy beverages
  • 8x the protein of almond beverages
  • and 6x the potassium levels of rice beverages.

I imagine this is a great option for people that struggle with discomfort from traditional milk. I will be sure to share this with my friends who are lactose intolerant — maybe this would help!

How interesting. I have never heard of this and I am totally curious to learn more because I too wonder if dairy is not so good for my son yet hate to forbid in case it isn’t really harmful to him! I have to learn more and try this A2 milk.

I’ll have to have hubby try this. He can’t drink dairy so has always used soy milk. But chocolate soy milk doesn’t always give him that nostalgic flavor of his childhood. Real milk would. So glad that your kids liked a2 milk.
