Must Have Books for Homeschooling

Back to Homeschooling? List of books you need in your home school | homeschool motivation | educational activities | homeschool curriculum | books for homeschooling

Getting ready for back to school, or rather back to homeschooling? We did not intentionally take a break over the summer, but somehow book learning fell to the curb just the same. It's soon time to get back into intentional learning, not solely unschooling. But, however you learn or teach your kids, no matter what curriculum you use, these are some … [Read more...]

Relaxed Homeschool Schedule

Relaxed homeschool schedule

This past school year the kids were in a charter school that required we follow at least some curriculum, so we gave it a try. We are relaxed, eclectic, unschool type homeschoolers. I don't like to be labeled, but we use bits and pieces of curriculum as needed while most of our learning is through games, field trips, discussion, and everyday life. … [Read more...]

To be forced to relax was extremely difficult for me. It did help that anytime I tried to do anything, such as a load of laundry or put the dishes away, I … [Read more...]

Summertime has arrived! We keep learning year round, but are even more relaxed about it over the summer. Do you make lots of summer plans? I try not to. I like to keep our days free for spontaneous activities, going wherever the wind takes us. I do plan to keep our habit of a little math and reading each day. The kids are so used to it, they just … [Read more...]

Summer is almost here! Do you stop school or continue year round? We just continue on as we love to learn and it's a natural part of our daily lives. We are much more relaxed, though. Well, I suppose we're pretty relaxed about learning all the time, but more so in summer. Summer is for long lazy days at the river or lake and late evenings outside … [Read more...]

The weather is warmer and we've been spending a lot more time outdoors. The kids have re-discovered their bikes now that it's dry enough to ride and wow, my daughter has really grown! She needs a new bike. Guess I know what she'll be getting for her birthday coming up soon. Shh, don't tell her! Many new posts added to the Love to Learn hop over … [Read more...]

I miss the days when the kids would freely play ou I miss the days when the kids would freely play outdoors. Rocks & streams, sticks & flowers, their toys of choice. They're older now and drawn and to technology. They still have a love of nature, but it takes a push to get them to go outside and their play is different now. How do you get your big kids or #teens outdoors?
