Schoola #PassTheBag Challenge

Remember the ice bucket challenge? This is similar, though less cold and messy and benefits schools (and your closets) in a great way.

How to participate:

  1. Request a bag from Schoola and they’ll send it quickly, free of charge. Choose the school to benefit or add the school you’d like money to be donated to.
  2. Fill the bag with gently used clothes: Kids and now they accept women’s clothes as well!
  3. Send your full bag back to Schoola, also free of charge. Leave it out or schedule your postal carrier to pick it up. Simple!
  4. Challenge at least 3 friends or family members to do the same by posting on
Facebook or Twitter and using the hashtag #PasstheBag and tagging those friends.

Then go to Schoola and do a little shopping to get your kids ready for warmer weather. And now you can grab something for yourself as well with the new women’s clothing section.

I Challenge You to #PassTheBag #Used #KidsClothes Benefits Schools #causes #educationI took the challenge!

Requesting a bag and adding the school I wanted to benefit was quick and easy.
My kids had a lot fun going through their drawers and pulling out items they no longer wear. I checked for stains and holes and put the clothes that were in good shape in a pile. I went through my own closet and did the same.
My adorable helper held the bag for me while I filled it up.
Take the #PasstheBag challenge! Donate your gently used clothes and get funds for your schools

She’s so proud that the clothes we no longer need will help a great cause!

We put the bag out for the mail carrier to pick up. It couldn’t have been easier!

I hope you take the challenge and challenge others to #PassTheBag!

Great post! My son isn't of school age yet, but I will check out local schools in my area to see if they have this program!

We had a great experience with Schoola. It's so important for schools to be able to provide art, music, and PE, and we were happy to have a small part in this by sending in some clothes. We've ordered some good stuff from them, too. 🙂

It's so sad that schools don't have the funds to make these important things happen. They are no less important that math and reading and help with understanding both. So great that this company is giving back so much of their profits and it's so easy to be part of it! Glad you've already taken the challenge!

This is a great idea…particularly since I love to donate, but hate that I often collect everything and then it sits in my trunk for months waiting to be dropped off. And alot of times, curb pickup doesn't happen. I'm going to do this and challenge others to #passthebag.

Same here. It either sits in my car or by the front door having still never made it to the car. It was easy to fill the bag with just a few items, too and not feel like I had to overhaul my closets to make it worth while, as I do when I take a trip to the donation center.

I miss the days when the kids would freely play ou I miss the days when the kids would freely play outdoors. Rocks & streams, sticks & flowers, their toys of choice. They're older now and drawn and to technology. They still have a love of nature, but it takes a push to get them to go outside and their play is different now. How do you get your big kids or #teens outdoors?
