It’s important to teach kids about voting and elections. Teach them how every vote makes a difference and voting is important to create or change laws and regulations. Learn about presidential elections and general elections. Some fun activities to learn about voting include holding a vote in your home as well as watching videos about voting on YouTube and discussing them. Some video series we enjoy are Liberty Kids, Ameriquest, and, of course, School House Rocks.
Here are some children’s books on voting to get you started learning about elections whether in your homeschool curriculum or as a supplement to the classroom. Enjoy and be sure to get out and vote! Bring your kids with you so they can see the process, view the ballot, and will not be intimidated by it when they are old enough to vote.
